Randa Abdel-Fattah is twenty-six, and has her own identity hyphens to contend with (Australian-born-Muslim-Palestinian-Egyptian-choc-a-holic). Her first novel, Does My Head Look Big in This? Was an instant bestseller in Australia. She is a 26-year-old lawyer, born in Australia of Palestinian and Egyptian parents. For years Randa has been active in the inter-faith community, and is one of the original members of a Melbourne-Palestinian/Jewish women's friendship group. Over the years Randa has been a member of a number of Palestinian human rights campaigns, the Australian Arabic council and various Australian Muslim women networks. She loves traveling to Egypt and Palestine and being spoilt by her relatives. She also loves reading, watching romantic comedies, her husband's sense of humour, getting a seat on the train, and any movie starring Colin Firth. Randa is currently working on her second novel 'Ten things I hate about me'.


Senator the Hon. Judith Troeth was first elected to the Senate as a representative for Victoria in 1993 and has served on a number of committees during her parliamentary career. She was a teacher and farmer before entering politics. Senator Troeth was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Primary Industries and Energy 1997-98 and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry 1998-2004. in 2005/6 Senator Troeth worked with cross-party colleagues to lobby for RU486 to be made available in Australia, for which she was recently awarded an "Edna" (the Edna Ryan Award) by the women's electoral body.


Narelle Henry basketballer for Perth Glory. Narelle started playing basketball in 1985 because her sister was. Her biggest thrill outside basketball is traveling. She loves to paint, spontaneous road trips, Dave Matthews and chocolate milk. The person she would most like to meet are her great grandparents to learn of her heritage. Her goal is to wake up every morning with a love and a passion for what she is doing.


Sam Mostyn has an extensive background in law, management and politics. She is currently the Group Executive, Culture & Reputation at Insurance Australia Group where she has responsibility for managing the Human Resource, Organisational Effectiveness, Corporate Affairs, Government Relations & Policy, Corporate Sustainability and Community Engagement functions. She is a member of the NSW Premier's Greenhouse Advisory Panel, and is a Board member of the Sydney Theatre Company, the Centenary Institute, and the Redfern-Waterloo Authority. She is a Trustee of the Australian Museum and in 2005 was appointed as a Commissioner with the Australian Football League.
