The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission is seeking feedback on the role of the commission and how to design a better system for charities and non profits- the following is their media release on using social media to have a voice.
The ACNC Taskforce is using facebook to allow people who cannot attend physical meetings to be part of the community consultation. They have provided the following advice which they have asked if you could distribute it through your networks.
"The Australian Government is committed to consulting with the community at every stage of its not-for-profit reform process. An important component of this commitment is the establishment of a presence on facebook.
We are mindful that people living in rural and remote parts of Australia may not be able to attend our community consultations, to be held in all capital cities and Townsville from 30 January to 13 February 2011. The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Taskforce (ACNCT) facebook page provides an alternative means for members of the NFP sector to engage with the ACNCT on the implementation and design of the new charity regulator.
The ACNCT facebook page can be accessed here and complements the existing ACNCT Website and ACNC YouTube Channel.
