YWCA Australia 2010 federal election priorities
We have consulted widely with our membership and identified nine priorities that we think are the most important for the 2010 federal election. Our priorities are:
- Eliminating violence against women and increasing respectful relationships
- Increasing the number of women on boards and increasing young women’s leadership
- Reducing the gender pay gap
- Increasing access to affordable housing
- Strengthening social inclusion
- The Northern Territory Emergency Response and Compulsory Income Management
- Improving childcare, particularly out of school hours care and vacation care
- Adopting a Human Rights Act
- Strengthening policy responses by improving data collection
