Support program works to keep women out of prison once released

For many women about to be released from jail, the prospect of life on the outside can be daunting and a large number end up back behind bars.

Seventy per cent of the total national prison population has been in jail before.

In Darwin, a program for women prisoners is having success reducing recidivism by continuing the support provided on the inside on the outside as well.
