The YWCA global campaign against violence puts the issue on the public agenda and asks individuals, like you, to take responsible action against the aggression around you. This site offers practical strategies and contacts for responding to the increasing incidents of violence around you.
The World YWCA Week Without Violence takes place in the third week of October each year.
In Australia every week one in six children is bullied, every day a person is murdered, every hour someone reports a sexual assault while many more suffer in silence. Every minute you spend thinking there is nothing you can do - is another minute nothing is done.
"So what can i do?"
- If you are a witness to violence, don't turn a blind eye.
- See whether your local YWCA is having an event and go along. Listing for local associations
- Be a peace activist.
- Cultivate peace in yourself.
- Learn and educate yourself and others about the causes of violence.
- Join the YWCA and support our global work for peace.
