2021 Annual General Meeting

We are delighted to invite Members and supporters of the Y to attend YWCA Australia’s virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held at 5:30pm AEDT on Thursday 18 November 2021 via Zoom.  In line with recent changes to the Corporations Act, we will establish a private Zoom meeting environment that registered attendees will be able to access via a link provided prior to the AGM. The AGM will be held as a meeting, not a webinar as it was in 2020. This means you will be able to speak at the meeting and see other attendees.

Director elections

Four of our existing Directors, Molly George, Julia Goodall, Freya Mulvey and Juliana Nkrumah, will be standing down as Directors. Molly, Julia and four other candidates will be standing for election.  We intend to appoint three Directors, at least one of whom must be a Young Woman (30 or younger at time of appointment). Biographical details of each candidate have been made available for your reference.

Nomination Committee elections

Two of our existing Nominations Committee members, Julia Burns and Melissa du Heaume will be standing down. Julia and three other candidates will be standing for election. We intend to appoint two Nominations Committee members. Biographical details of each candidate have been made available for your reference.

In order to receive the link to attend the AGM via Zoom, attendees will need to register beforehand. Closed captions and Auslan interpretation will both be available for the duration of the AGM.

Questions

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the Board, Executive and the Auditor at the AGM.  We encourage attendees to submit their questions prior to the meeting by sending them to Kate O’Donohue, the Company Secretary, on companysec@ywca.org.au.

In the event that you are unable to attend the AGM, we offer a range of other opportunities to engage with our Members, including regular electronic communications, the CBF, social media, and of course our phone lines and email addresses are always open.
