This role is offered on a full time basis and is based in our South Melbourne office.The Community Housing Officer (CHO) role is the face of the organisation toour residents within the properties that YWCA Australia and YWCA Housing owns and manages. This role is essential to ensure sustainable tenancies by undertaking efficient administrative functions and actions that will assist and maintained resident’s tenancies.As a CHO you will maintain tenancy systems, undertake data collection, provide advice and information to residents, visit all residents on a quarterly basis, reports tenancy and maintenance issues whilst operating under the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act.You will operate within a team environment to achieve the organisational goals andobjectives.ABOUT YOUThe ideal applicant we are seeking will have:An awareness, understanding and sensitivity to homelessness issues and the ability and experience to communicate with a diversity of people from various cultures;Ability to maintain and manage tenancy data on various data bases - Chintaro and Excel;Computer skills that include email and software such as Excel and Word;Knowledge and experience with the processes of VCAT forms and hearings;High level organisational and administrative skills;A clear understanding of the VIC Residential Tenancies Act;Victorian Driver’s License; andA valid state-based working with children or working with vulnerable people check.DesirableBe familiar with rent/tenancy procedures, tenancy agreements and administrative processes in an office environment; andMediation and conflict resolution skills.This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily complete a national criminal history record check and hold the relevant state based working with vulnerable persons permit prior to employment INTERESTED?
