This role is offered on a casual basis and is based in Toowoomba.The Disability Support Worker supports and enriches the lives of persons living with a disability. Using a person centered approach, the Disability Support Worker assists clients to build their capacity to work or volunteer in the community and to lead more independent lives. ABOUT YOUThe ideal applicant we are seeking will have:Qualifications in Individual Support or similar desiredDemonstrated understanding of the needs of people with disability and the ability to work effectively to support clients of diverse needsDemonstrated understanding of the community services sector and disability legislationAvailability to work overnight shifts will be highly regardedA current Blue Card and Yellow Card or ability to obtain oneA current First Aid/CPR Certificate and Driver’s LicenceTeam player who is approachable with strong interpersonal and listening skills together with the ability to empowerResults focused, self-motivated and a self-starter who goes above and beyondDoesn’t settle, strives for continuous improvement and has a high level of integrityThis position will require the applicant to satisfactorily complete a national criminal history record check and hold the relevant state based working with vulnerable persons permit prior to employment.People of all genders are encouraged to apply.
