This will ensure we continue to deliver measurable and meaningful impact towards a future where gender equality is a reality. ABOUT THIS ROLEAs a key member of the Executive Team, this role is our leading advocacy specialist, influencing key decision makers to drive important social change in housing, homelessness and domestic family violence for young women, women, and gender diverse people. It will transform the way YWCA works with government, partners, and policy makers to create measurable and sustained impact.You will:Create and implement our advocacy and external affairs strategyProvide intelligence, analysis and recommendations on emerging policy and political issueMaintain a current and evidence-based policy platformDevelop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in the sector and governmentBuilding and leveraging advocacy relationships to maximise funding opportunitiesBuild capacity and elevate young women’s voices to drive policy changes ABOUT YOUThe ideal applicant will have:Tertiary qualifications in Public Policy, Economics, Law, or other relevant experienceExperience in a similar role engaging in systematic advocacy and strategic engagement work to influence policy at State or Federal levelDemonstrated experience building, managing, and strengthening relationships with internal and external stakeholdersExperience working alongside and for young women and people of marginalised genders is desirableComprehensive knowledge including legislation, governance, and policy reform in at least one of the following sectors:Community HousingFamily and Domestic ViolenceHomelessnessPlus a good working knowledge of the other sectorsThis position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements.  This includes:Completion of a national criminal history checkA valid relevant state-based working with children permitProof of Covid-19 Vaccination Don’t meet every single requirement?
