Announcement: Helen Conway takes leave of absence as President of YWCA Australia

Dear Members of YWCA Australia, I am writing to inform you that Helen Conway, President of YWCA Australia, will be taking a leave of absence from her role as President in order to stand as an Independent candidate in the upcoming New South Wales State Election.

During this time, the YWCA Australia Board of Directors has appointed Molly George as Acting President and Renee Wirth as Acting Vice President. The Board and Management have full confidence in their leadership and guidance as we continue to prioritise young women’s leadership and women’s housing for gender equity in Australia.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Hannah Murray, YWCA Australia’s Company Secretary, at companysec@ywca.org.au.

Thank you for your continued commitment to our movement.

YWCA Australia wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work, live and play and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise First Nations people as the custodians of the lands, seas and skies, with more than 60,000 years of wisdom, connection and relationship in caring for Country.
