Launching our Cyber Feminists (CBF)!

We heard you loud and clear. Through last year’s membership survey, you told us you wanted opportunities to evolve your leadership, connect with YWCA members across the movement and get more active in YWCA’s advocacy.

Exclusive to YWCA Members, we are launching the #YCBF, an online flash mob leading change on key issues around gender equality and intersectionality.

CBF members are passionate intersectional feminists wanting to be part of social change across Australia and connect to a global YWCA movement. They will have the opportunity to:

  • Mobilise on ‘Advocacy Activation Points’ to amplify our voices
  • Easily share CBF advocacy content on their social platforms to help raise awareness and promote action on gender equality
  • Suggest and create their own advocacy content working with young creatives from all around Australia
  • Foster a safe online community and connect with members from across Australia

COVID-19 may be tearing at our social fabric but in this time of isolation and upheaval, it is more critical than ever that our voices are heard on the issues that are affecting us. We want to ensure women and gender diverse people’s voices remain front and centre.

Many of us are frustrated because despite all the evidence of the gendered nature of disasters in Australia and globally, responses have largely ignored this. Together we can change this.

YWCA Australia wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work, live and play and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise First Nations people as the custodians of the lands, seas and skies, with more than 60,000 years of wisdom, connection and relationship in caring for Country.
