YWCA Australia is looking for a Program Facilitator who amplifies lived experience voices in homelessness and Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV), and champions culturally safe participation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

  • Employment type: Part‑time, ongoing – 30.4 hours per week (flexible work arrangements available)

About this opportunity

In this role you will lead delivery of a scaled‑up Lived Experience and Advocacy Program (LEAP), building and managing partnerships, advisory groups, and lived‑experience activities. Reporting to the Program Lead, the role works closely with community partners, leaders, and lived‑experience stakeholders to ensure culturally safe participation.

In this role you will:

  • Co‑facilitate the Lived Experience Advisory Group, ensuring culturally safe participation and strong advocacy input
  • Champion First Nations advocacy, elevating participant voices across programs and partnerships
  • Embed trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and culturally responsive practice to ensure safety
  • Deliver empowerment and skill‑building programs for Aboriginal women, independently or with partners
  • Support participant‑led advocacy, including recruitment, support, and confidential data management

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women using culturally safe, trauma‑informed practice
  • Demonstrated experience supporting First Nations advocacy and lived‑experience‑led initiatives
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with participants, communities, and partner organisations
  • Experience handling sensitive information in line with confidentiality and ethical data standards
  • Proven facilitation and communication skills, including clear documentation and workshop delivery.
