YWCA Australia is currently seeking multiple Accommodation Workers to provide practical, non-medical support to guests from rural and remote areas accessing hospital treatment, including assistance with accommodation and daily needs.

• Location:  Larrakia Land - Darwin (Office)
• Contract: Part-Time | Ongoing | three opportunities
• Shifts: Day or Night shifts (with sleep over) available
• Award:  SCHADS Award 2010 – Level 2
• Salary: $34.58 to $37.73 an hour + Super + relevant loadings
• Benefits: Salary packaging up to $18,550

About the team

The Medical Accommodation Program Team supports the provision of comfortable lodging for people traveling to Darwin for medical appointments or treatment. We operate two accommodation facilities: Barbara James House and Doctor Helen Phillips Cottages.  Learn more about our services here.

About this opportunity

As an Accommodation Worker you will:

• Manage reservations, check-ins/outs, and assist with guest enquiries.
• Assist with accommodation admin tasks and help guests organize travel plans.
• Monitor guest activity and perform First Aid/Fire Warden duties if needed.
• Help housekeeping and kitchen teams with cleaning, laundry, and food service tasks.
• Operate the kiosk, handle stock and payments, and assist with event setup.

About You

As a great candidate you will:

• Communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and colleagues; work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrate respect for cultural diversity and social differences in a socially inclusive environment.
• Show initiative, creativity, and effective problem-solving skills in daily tasks.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Hold or be willing to obtain First Aid and Food Safety certificates, NT Driver’s Licence, Criminal History Check, and a valid Working with Children/Vulnerable People check.
