Do you want to be part of a feminist organisation committed to creating a future where gender equality is a reality? YWCA Australia is currently recruiting passionate Youth Workers to support our Youth Crisis Accommodation Service – CASY House.

  • Salary: Social & Community Services Level 3 | $38.65 to $41.45 per hour + Super
  • Benefits: Salary packaging up to $18,550

Are you passionate about gender equality and have the skills to support young people through trauma‑informed, strengths‑based practice?

Our Youth Workers support young people of all genders at YWCA Australia’s CASY House - Darwin’s only youth crisis accommodation for 15–18‑year‑olds experiencing homelessness - by providing person‑centred, trauma‑informed care that helps them feel safe, respected, and empowered to shape the future they want.

Each day, you will create safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces while supporting young people to develop essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and self‑advocacy. You will foster connection and resilience, promote gender equality through practical and meaningful action, and work closely with residents, partners, and colleagues to support positive and lasting change.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • have or are working towards, a Certificate III in Community Services or Youth Work.
  • have experience working with young people and an understanding of the youth homelessness sector.
  • bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and work collaboratively.
  • are committed to gender equality and intersectional feminism.
  • are able to participate in a 24‑hour roster, including weekend and sleepover shifts.
  • are motivated by purpose‑driven work and enjoy contributing to a supportive, values‑led culture.
  • enjoy working closely with young people and the broader community.
