To bring winter to a close, YWCA Australia’s profit-for-purpose Song Kitchen in Sydney hosted its inaugural Women Winemakers event on 19 August, bringing the community together to celebrate good food, wine, and Song Kitchen’s commitment to supporting the women helping shape the Australian wine industry.
Guests, including our new CEO Diana Sayed, members of the Executive Team and Board, enjoyed a decadent four-course menu designed by Chef Kay, paired with eight wines expertly presented by host Anita Goode of Wangolina, a family-owned winery in the Mount Benson wine region on South Australia’s Limestone Coast.
Throughout the evening, Anita shared her journey in the wine industry, offering guests insights into the craft of winemaking, the unique characteristics of each varietal, and the opportunities and challenges of building a successful business in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
Her expertise, passion and storytelling added a personal touch to each pairing, creating an engaging and memorable experience for guests.
The event was a celebration of craftsmanship, connection and the women making their mark on the Australian wine landscape, while showcasing Song Kitchen’s commitment to championing diverse voices and bringing people together around the table.
