Last night in Naarm, Melbourne, World Y, YWCA Australia, YWCA Canberra and YWCA Hunter held a networking event to coincide with the Women Deliver conference.
It was a fantastic night with approximately 70 guests coming together from across the globe united by our shared passion for gender equality.
Robyn Clubb, YWCA Australia Board President, provided a welcome and introduction, YWCA Canberra Board President Tahlia Burgoyne-Thorek gave a moving and thought-provoking Acknowledgment of Country and Casey Harden, World Y General Secretary gave an inspiring address reminding everyone of our role in making change and how important the global Y movement is.
It is rare that so many representatives from YWCA organisations around the world can meet in person. With many attendees also taking part in the Women Deliver conference, it was also an excellent opportunity to discuss the inspiring and challenging workshops that were featured.
Thank you to everyone who attended and who helped to coordinate the networking event.
YWCA has a rich history in advocating and striving for gender equality. While our legacy is strong, last night’s event showed our future is just as bright.
