A world that is safe and friendly for women and children
A feminist organisation with a social justice agenda, YWCA Darwin's purpose is to develop the leadership and collective power of women and girls around the greater Darwin area.
YWCA Darwin does this to achieve human rights, health, security, dignity, freedom, justice and peace for all people.
Initially set up in 1969 to provide safe accommodation for women, the YWCA of Darwin has expanded to provide a diverse range of programs that address the needs of different groups in the community.
Our programs include youth housing (ranging from crisis accommodation to medium and long-term housing), youth diversion, mentoring, a domestic and family violence centre, parenting and the YWCA Encore after breast cancer program.
