Together we challenge the systems, structures and policies that act as barriers to women, especially young women, achieving their full potential. ABOUT THIS ROLEYWCA Australia is currently seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join our Song Hotel and Kitchen Team on a casual basis working weekends (Saturday and Sunday), mainly across our breakfast service, up to 20 hours per week, from 6am - 1pm.This role works closely with the Chef De Partie and Front of House team to ensure successful delivery of quality food and is responsible for:Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals.Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in all food storage and preparation areas.Ensuring food quality, presentation and safety standards are adhered to at all timesHaving a comprehensive understanding of kitchen metrics such as food cost control.Train and develop junior team members and apprentices in hands on skills, work plans and the HACCP/food safety plan. Contributing to and promote safe work practices that are consistent with YWCA’s policies and comply with WH&S legislation.Promoting and actively supportting a safe and inclusive working environment that celebrates everyone’s uniqueness, including their race, gender identity, age, disability, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and experiences. ABOUT YOUThe ideal applicant we are seeking will have:Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar roleTrade qualifications and comprehensive knowledge of Kitchen operations previously gained in similar positions in well-respected establishmentsExcellent communication skills and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to accept, learn from and deal diplomatically with feedback, including customer feedbackSolid demonstrated knowledge and understanding of food and work health & safety regulationsFood Safety Supervisor certificateComputer literate, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily complete a national criminal history record check prior to employment Join our bold, inclusive and innovative team to make a real difference - lead the change.  APPLICATIONS CLOSE: Sunday 16 May 2021View Position Description Here 20 AUD Sydney 2007
