We aim to positively impact the lives of more than two million women, young women and girls by the end of 2023.ABOUT THIS ROLEYWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Kitchen Hand to join our Medical Accommodation Program Team. This role is offered on a part time (40 hours per fortnight) basis on a maximum term contract ending on 18 September 2020, based in The Gardens NT.The purpose of the Kitchenhand is to contribute to the efficient operation of the commercial kitchen operated within Barbara James House by performing general kitchen duties in a consistent and effective manner.ABOUT YOUThe ideal applicant we are seeking will have:Essential Skills, Knowledge and Attributes:Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers.Ability to use effective communication skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues, and to liaise and network with external agencies as required.Demonstrate basic knowledge of food safety, health and hygiene principles.Effective time management skills.Use basic literacy, numeracy and interpersonal skills.Willingness to perform within a culture of co-operation and team work.Food Safety CertificateDesirable Skills Knowledge and Attributes:Demonstrated experience working in a setting where infection controlconsiderations are paramount to the health and well-being of others.Demonstrated experience working in a commercial kitchen.Other Requirements / Obligations:Hold and maintain a Senior First Aid CertificateHold and maintain a current NT Driver’s LicenceHold and maintain a Working with Children (Ochre) CardQualificationsTertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position.This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily complete a national criminal history record check and hold the relevant state based working with children/vulnerable persons permit prior to employment.INTERESTED?
