Feminist of the Month: Dr Emma Fulu

Nominated by MISSives Guest Editor, Khayshie Tilak Ramesh

Dr Emma Fulu is someone who I’m constantly grateful to work closely with within the inclusion and diversity space. Emma is a feminist activist at heart and has dedicated her life to advancing the rights of women and girls around the globe.

She is one of the world’s leading experts on ending violence against women and girls and has led some of the largest and most impactful global studies and programs, including for the United Nations. In 2015, she founded the Equality Institute, a global feminist agency working to advance gender equality and end violence against women and girls, which has grown to work in over 30 countries, conducted over 50 studies, and trained thousands of people.

YWCA Australia wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work, live and play and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise First Nations people as the custodians of the lands, seas and skies, with more than 60,000 years of wisdom, connection and relationship in caring for Country.
