Saying goodbye to Ashleigh, Sadaf, Aurora and Emalia

We would like to thank departing Young Women’s Council Members Sharifah Emalia Al-Gadrie, Ashleigh Darrie, Sadaf Dileri and Aurora Matchett who will not be continuing as YWC members due to their ongoing commitments. Emalia, Ashleigh, Sadaf Aurora have been fantastic intersectional feminists as part of the YWC but also in their communities.

While this is sad news for us, we would like to celebrate their wonderful contributions and the experience they have brought to the Council during their time. Please join me in saying goodbye and celebrating their legacy as Council members.

The rest of the current Young Women’s Council finish their terms at the end of June. Applications to join the next Young Women’s Council will open soon – keep your eyes peeled in the next MISSives for more information on how to apply.

YWCA Australia wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work, live and play and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise First Nations people as the custodians of the lands, seas and skies, with more than 60,000 years of wisdom, connection and relationship in caring for Country.
