Y Ability program closes

YWCA Australia’s Y Ability Program, which provided a range of disability support services across Toowoomba and surrounds, including supported independent living, group activities, and in-home and community-based individual supports, closed on 30 June 2023.

YWCA Australia worked closely with a trusted local service provider to ensure a smooth transition of care for our clients. We are thrilled that many of our team members have moved across to this provider and will continue providing support to the community. Their commitment and expertise are invaluable assets that will undoubtedly make a positive difference.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was a part of this program, from our clients and their families to our dedicated team members. It is because of your dedication and support that this program achieved so much throughout its operations.

YWCA Australia continues to operate the Y Connect Program and housing services across Toowoomba and Darling Downs and remains committed to supporting women and other diverse groups in the region through the growth of our housing, services and leadership pathways.

YWCA Australia wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work, live and play and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise First Nations people as the custodians of the lands, seas and skies, with more than 60,000 years of wisdom, connection and relationship in caring for Country.
